Position Summary
As a US Freight Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating truck movements from warehouses/freezers and processing plants in the United States and Canada to U.S. freezers or borders, ensuring timely delivery of products within the assigned budget, while taking full ownership of freight execution and proactively resolving any issues that arise.

Key Responsibilities
Freight Coordination & Execution
- Coordinate the movement of goods from origin to destination, ensuring smooth end-to-end execution.
- Communicate with suppliers, warehouses, and carriers to schedule pickups, arrange appointments, and ensure on-time deliveries.
- Audit all operations one week prior to shipment to ensure all required information is in place for flawless execution.
- Proactively manage and resolve issues related to freight movement.
- Provide daily updates to the commercial team regarding shipment status, including deliveries and delays.
- Maintain organized records of bookings, shipments, and all related documentation in the commercial folder.
- Work closely with the claims department to ensure timely and accurate information regarding ongoing claims.
- Monitor and control transportation costs and expenses.
- Audit freight invoices and dispute discrepancies when necessary.
- Negotiate freight rates with carriers.
- Report any cost variations to the manager for approval.
- Provide operational support to the commercial and logistics teams regarding transportation planning, costs, and deviations.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with carriers.
- Resolve service failures and operational contingencies in a timely manner.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in International Business, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of logistics experience in the food trading industry, managing domestic and export shipments with temperature-controlled transportation.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid operational knowledge of the trucking industry within the United States and Canada.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of organization.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to interact professionally and objectively with all levels of the organization, external providers, and clients.
- Strong interpersonal skills; enjoys supporting and collaborating with others in a respectful and courteous manner.
- Sound judgment and discretion when handling challenging situations.
- Strong work ethic and alignment with company principles.
